Artist Spotlight: Aretha Franklin
On our 40th episode, we celebrate the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. In addition to having one of the greatest voices of all time, she was also a feminist icon, an important figure in the civil rights movement, the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005. We celebrate Aretha Franklin’s voice, the artists who influenced her, and lasting affect that she has had on music today.
