Dallas-raised alternative singer/songwriter Madeline releases “Emergency Snack”, an infectious, introspective song that marks her first release of 2021. Written by Madeline and her producer and boyfriend, Jack Kleinick, with additional production from Zach Skelton (Jonas Brothers, Hailee Steinfeld, The Aces), the track tells the story of a failing friendship where the need for approval meets the reality of relationships. Madeline confesses her indecisiveness with the situation but recognizes that avoiding tensions with others will only end up adding to her own internal conflict.

“The song came together pretty fast. I didn’t really think about what I was writing until after it was finished. The writing process was pretty representative of the actual situation. I felt like I was all over the place emotionally, but there was actually a through line of my thoughts the whole time.” The song follows last year’s debut single “Guilty Conscience” and her cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark”, which was picked up by Spotify’s “Fresh Finds”, “Fresh Finds: Pop” and “Capricorn” playlists. “Emergency Snack” also bookends a year of Madeline’s musical journey with Kleinick.

“This was the first song Jack and I wrote together back in April of last year. It feels really good to start off this year's releases with “Emergency Snack” because now we have all of these songs together that I can’t wait to get out into the world.”

“Emergency Snack” is out now on all streaming services.
